Past, present and future numbers in numerology

Some guides arrange three numbers under past, present and future labels. This page demonstrates one convention and explains how it differs from the figures displayed here.

One way to divide the date

For this example, past uses the day of birth, present uses the full date, and future uses the birth month and day. Labels and reduction rules are not consistent across all guides, so check the formula used by the source you are following.

The present number in this convention uses the same input as our life path. The future label describes a reading theme; it does not establish a future event.

Check each figure by hand

Choose which part of the date belongs to each label.
Separate the day, full date, and month-plus-day inputs.
Add and reduce each input. This example retains 11, 22 and 33.
Keep the formula alongside each label so you can reproduce it.

How this differs from the automatic calculator

The form displays a life path, day number and birth year number. In the convention above, the day number corresponds to past and the life path to present. The birth year number is not a future number. Calculate the month-plus-day future number separately using the formula on this page.

Do not substitute one figure for another because their labels sound related.
A personal year includes a target year, unlike the month-plus-day future number.
These three sums do not establish the age at which an event will happen.

Reading the three themes together

In this example, 5 suggests experimenting, 11 suggests checking an impression, and 1 suggests taking a first step. You could write down something you have tried, something you want to verify now, and something you would like to begin. This ties the themes to your own actions without treating the labels as a fixed biography or forecast.
